Vasudev   sutam   devam
Kansa   chanoor   mardanam
Devakee   parmaa   nandam
Krishnam   vande   jagad   gurum.
Arjun Uvaach:
Evam   sa ta t   yuk taa   ye
Bhak taa s   t waa m   par yu paa sa te
Ye   chaa p ya   a ksha r   mav yak tam
Te shaa m   ke   yo g   vit tamaa h.
Those devotees (bhaktaas) who, ever steadfast (satat yukta), thus worship Thee and those also (ye) who worship (paryupaasate) the imperishable (aksharam) and (chaa) the unmanifested (avyaktam) -which (ke) of them (tesham) are better versed (vittmah) in Yoga (yog)?
Shree Bhagwaan Uvaach:
Mayya   aveshya   mano   ye   maam
Ni t ya   yu k taa   upaa sa te
Shrad-dhayaa   pa ra yo   pe taas
Te   me   yu k ta   ta maa   ma taa h.
Those who, fixing (aveshya) their mind (mano) on Me (mayya), worship Me (upaaste), ever steadfast (nitya yukta) and endowed (parayo petaas) with supreme faith (shradhdaya), are the best (yuktatmatah) in Yoga in My (me) opinion (mataah).
Ye   twa-kshara   manir   deshya
Mavyaktam   paryu-paasate
Sarvatra   gam   chintyam   cha
Kootastha   machalam   dhruvam
Those who worship the imperishable, the indefinable, the unmanifest, the omnipresent, the unthinkable, the immovable and the eternal.
Sanniyam   yendriya   graamam
Sarvatra   sam   buddhayah
Te   prapnu   vanti   mame   va
Sarva   bhoota   hite   rataah.
Having restrained all the senses, even-minded everywhere, intent on the welfare of all beings-verily they also come unto Me.
Klesho   dhik   taras   teshaa
Mavyaktaa   sakt   chetasaam
Avyaktaa   hi   gatir   dukham
Deh   vad   bhir   avaapyate.
Greater is their trouble whose minds are set on the unmanifested; for the goal, the unmanifested, is very hard for the embodied to reach.
Ye   tu   sarvaani   karmaani
Mayi   sanyasya   matparaah
Ananye-naiva   yogena
Maam   dhyaayanta   upaasate
But to those who worship Me, renouncing all actions in Me, regarding Me as the supreme goal, meditating on Me with single-minded Yoga,
Teshaam   aham   samuddhartaa
Mrityu   sansaar   saagaraat
Bhavaami   nachiraat   paartha
Mayyaa   veshit   chetasaam
To those whose minds are set on Me, O Arjuna, verily I become ere long the savior out of the ocean of Samsara.
Mayyev   mana   aadhatsva
Mayi   buddhim   niveshaya
Niva-sishyasi   maiyev
At   oordhvam   na   sanshayah
Fix (aadhatsva) thy mind (mana) in Me only (mayyev), thy intellect (buddhim) in Me (mayi), (then) thou shalt no (na) doubt (sanshayah) live in (niva sishyasi) Me(maiyev) alone hereafter (at oordhvam).
Atha   chittam   samaa   dhaatum
Na   shaknoshi   mayi   sthiram
Abhyaas   yogen   tato
Maam   ichchhaptum   dhananjaya
If thou art unable to fix thy mind steadily on Me, then by the Yoga of constant practice do thou seek to reach Me, O Arjuna.
Abhyaasepya   samarthosi
Mat   karma   paramo   bhava
Madartha-mapi   karmaani
Kurvan   siddhim   avaapsyasi
If thou are unable to practice even this Abhyasa Yoga, be thou intent on doing actions for My sake; even by doing actions for My sake, thou shalt attain perfection.
Athai   tadapya   shaktosi
Kartum   madyo   gamaashritah
Sarva   karma   phala   tyaagam
Tatah   kuru   yataatmavaan
If thou art unable to do even this, then, resorting to union with Me, renounce the fruits of all actions with the self controlled.
Shreyo   hi   gyaanam   abhyaasaaj
Gyaanaad   dhyaanam   vishishyate
Dhyaanaat   karma   phala   tyaagas
Tyaagaach   chhantir   anantaram
Better indeed is knowledge than practice; than knowledge meditation is better; than meditation the renunciation of the fruits of actions: peace immediately follows renunciation.
Adveshtaa   sarva   bhootaanaam
Maitrah   karun   eva   cha
Nir-mamo   nirahan-kaarah
Sama   dukhah   sukhah   kshamee
He who hates no creature, who is friendly and compassionate to all, who is free from attachment and egoism, balanced in pleasure and pain, and forgiving,

Santushtah   satatam   yogee
Yataatmaa   dridha   nishchayah
Mayy   arpit   mano   buddhir
Yo   mad   bhaktah   sa   me   priyah
Ever content (santushta), steady in meditation, self-controlled (yatatma), possessed of firm (dridh) conviction (nishchaya), with the mind (mano) and intellect (buddhir) dedicated (arpit) to Me, he, My devotee (Bhakta), is dear (priya) to Me.

Yasmaan   no   dvijate   loko
Lokaan   no   dvijate   cha   yah
Harsh   aamarsh   bhayo   dvegair
Mukto   yah   sa   cha   me   priyah
He by whom the world is not agitated and who cannot be agitated by the world, and who is freed from joy, anger, fear and anxiety-he is dear to Me.
Ana-pekshah   shuchir   daksha
Udaa-seeno   gata-vyathah
Sarvaa-rambha   pari-tyaagee
Yo   mad   bhaktah   sa   me   priyah
He who is free from wants, pure, expert, unconcerned, and free from pain, renouncing all undertakings or commencements-he who is (thus) devoted to Me, is dear to Me

Na   shochati   na   kangshati
Shubhaa   shubh   pari-tyaagee
Bhakti-maan   yah   sa   me   priyah
He who neither rejoices, nor hates, nor grieves, nor desires, renouncing good and evil, and who is full of devotion, is dear to Me.

Sa ma h   san ga   vi var jit ah
He who is the same(samah) to foe (shatru) and (cha) friend(mitre), and (cha) also (tatha) in honor(maan) and dishonor (apmaan), who is the same (samah) is cold and heat (sheetoshna) and in pleasure (sukh) and pain (dukh), who is free (vivarjit) from attachment (sanga).

He to whom censure(nindaa) and praise (stutir) are equal (tulya), who is silent (mauni), content (santushto) with (yena) anything (kenachit), homeless (aniketah), of a steady (sthir) mind (matir), and full of devotion (bhakti maan) -that man (narah) is dear (priyo) to Me.

Ye   tu   dharmya-amritam   idam
Yathoktam   paryu   paasate
Shrad-dh-dhaanaa   mat   parmaa
Bhaktaas   te   teeva   me   priyaah
They verily who follow this immortal Dharma (Law or doctrine) as described above, endowed with faith, regarding Me as their supreme goal, they, the devotees, are exceedingly dear to Me.

Brahm   vidyaa-yaam   yog   shaastre
shree   Krishna-arjun   samvaade
Bhakti   yogo   naam
dvaadsho   dhyaayah
Hari   aum   tat   sat
hari   aum   tat   sat
hari   aum   tat   sat
Shree   krishaar-panam   astu
shubham   bhooyat
