Verify that the student list is consistent with the class. Any changes need to be immediately notified to SPA (spa@vidyalaya.org). Please include “Language Assessment Correction” in the email subject line. If any changes are reported then an updated Language Assessment form for that class will be resent.

When entering the data into the Assessment form, the teachers must follow the guidelines listed below:

  • Do not leave any assessment column blank. It must have “S”, “E” or “N”
  • Do not enter “pass” or “next level” in the Recommended Level column. Here are the ONLY possible entries:
    • Hindi H1, H2, H3A, H3B, H4, H5, H6, H7, HC1, HC2, HC3
    • Gujarati G1, G2, G3, G4, G5, G6, GC1, GC2, GC3
    • Telugu T1, T2, T3, T4
  • For students who wish to move to conversation or another language for the upcoming year, the parents need to send an email to SPA with details. The recommended level entered should be independent of this and still be based on the student’s performance for the year.
    • For example, if a student is currently in H3 and wants to move to conversation for the upcoming school year, the recommended level SHOULD NOT be set to HC1. The recommended level should be H3 or H4, depending on the student’s performance. A note needs to be added in the “Internal notes” column indicating the parent’s preference.
  • If a student has been absent for all the classes or has discontinued classes in the middle of the year then enter “N” for the entire row. Mark the “Recommended Level” to be the same as the current level. Provide specific information regarding the student’s absence in the “Internal Notes” field.
  • If any comments need to be added for clarification on their grades or the recommended level, please add it in the “Internal Notes” column.
  • For the “Teacher Comments”, enter one or more applicable codes listed below:
    1. Student is making excellent progress.
    2. Student has a good attitude toward school.
    3. Student enjoys participating in classroom conversation.
    4. Student shows confidence and interest during class.
