End of Year Assembly and Appreciation Ceremony: June 7, 2015

This past Sunday, we hosted a special assembly to recognize our current volunteers and teachers and celebrate the last day of school. Our heartiest thanks to all the parents who came out to help us show our appreciation for our volunteers. Thanks to all the volunteers and teachers for also being there; we could not have had a successful school year without you. Everyone also enjoyed the special awards that were distributed to teachers and students. It was a wonderful end to another great year at Vidyalaya!

Pictures from the event will be posted on Vidyalaya's Facebook page soon. If you have not already, please join the group on Facebook by clicking on the following link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1505148496384837/ . It is a great way to keep up with all the goings on at our school.

School Store: June 14, 2015

School Store was a big hit this past Sunday. We sold out of all our treats. Since many children still have Desi Bucks left, we will have school store one more time at the picnic. Yes, at the picnic. The students are reminded to bring their Desi Bucks and exchange them for some frozen treats and summer toys. Special thanks to Anisha and Arjun for their dedication and diligence with the school store and Desi Bucks initiatives.

School Gift: 11:00 to 12:00pm at the Picnic, June 14, 2015

Please know that this Sunday, June 14th will be the absolute last day to pick up the end of the year gift of sweatpants for the students. If your child has not received one during the past two weekends, please make it a point to pick it up this Sunday between 11:00 and 12:00pm.

Yearbook: June 14, 2015

The 2014-2015 edition of the Vidyalaya yearbooks were distributed last Sunday. If your child did not receive one, please see Sonal Kumar at the picnic between 11:00 and 12:00pm to receive your copy.

Adults $10
Children (5-10years old) $5
Children (under 5years) Free

Please email spa@vidyalaya.com to pre-register as soon as possible.

Since many of you would be joining us for the first time, here is some general info. This park has ample parking. It has a lot of multi-use areas, in-line skating rinks, ball fields, a playground & trails. You can bring your bikes and skates and have a blast; don't forget the helmets. It would be advisable to bring sun block and a change of clothing (water balloons tend to make a cameo appearance). Also, please bring any game equipment that might be of general interest (baseball, kites, frisbees, board games etc.). We especially need cricket bats/kits. We will also have an outdoor zumba class led by our own Deepa Gaitonde. There are plenty of activities for one and all. So come and join the fun!

Students are encouraged to wear their Vidyalaya t-shirts.

Some volunteers will be needed to carry items to the pavilion, to serve food and to help with the clean-up. Thanks in advance for the help. Looking forward to another great picnic with food, games and fun with the extended Vidyalaya family. Weather is expected to be a warm 84 degrees and partly cloudy - perfect day for a picnic, so come on out and join us!
