  1. इमा उ वां भर्मयो मन्यमाना युवावते न तुज्या अभूवन |
  2. YOUR well-known prompt activities aforetime needed no impulse from your faithful servant.
    कव तयदिन्द्रावरुणा यशो वां येन समा सिनं भरथः सखिभ्यः ||
    Where, Indra-Varuṇa, is now that glory wherewith ye brought support to those who loved you?
  3. अयमु वां पुरुतमो रयीयञ्छश्वत्तममवसे जोहवीति |
  4. This man, most diligent, seeking after riches, incessantly invokes you for your favour.
    सजोषाविन्द्रावरुणा मरुद्भिर्दिवा पर्थिव्या शर्णुतं हवम्मे ||
    Accordant, Indra-Varuṇa, with Maruts, with Heaven and Earth, hear ye mine invocation.
  5. अस्मे तदिन्द्रावरुणा वसु षयादस्मे रयिर्मरुतः सर्ववीरः |
  6. O Indra-Varuṇa, ours be this treasure ours be wealth, Maruts, with full store of heroes.
    अस्मान वरूत्रीः शरणैरवन्त्वस्मान होत्रा भारती दक्षिणाभिः ||
    May the Varūtrīs with their shelter aid us, and Bhāratī and Hotrā with the Mornings.
  7. बर्हस्पते जुषस्व नो हव्यानि विश्वदेव्य |
  8. Be pleased! with our oblations, thou loved of all Gods, Bṛhaspati:
    रास्व रत्नानि दाशुषे ||
    Give wealth to him who brings thee gifts.
  9. शुचिमर्कैर्ब्र्हस्पतिमध्वरेषु नमस्यत |
  10. At sacrifices, with your hymns worship the pure Bṛhaspati—
    अनाम्योज आचके ||
    I pray for power which none may bend—
  11. वर्षभं चर्षणीनां विश्वरूपमदाभ्यम |
  12. The Bull of men, whom none deceive, the wearer of each shape at will,
    बर्हस्पतिंवरेण्यम ||
    Bṛhaspati Most Excellent.
  13. इयं ते पूषन्नाघ्र्णे सुष्टुतिर्देव नव्यसी |
  14. Divine, resplendent Pūṣan, this our newest hymn of eulogy,
    अस्माभिस्तुभ्यं शस्यते ||
    By us is chanted forth to thee.
  15. तां जुषस्व गिरं मम वाजयन्तीमवा धियम |
  16. Accept with favour this my song, be gracious to the earnest thought,
    वधूयुरिव योषणाम ||
    Even as a bridegroom to his bride.
  17. यो विश्वाभि विपश्यति भुवना सं च पश्यति |
  18. May he who sees all living things, see, them together at a glance,—
    स नः पूषाविता भुवत ||
    May he, may Pūṣan be our help.
  19. तत सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि |
  20. May we attain that excellent glory of Savitar the God:
    धियो यो नः परचोदयात ||
    So May he stimulate our prayers.
  21. देवस्य सवितुर्वयं वाजयन्तः पुरन्ध्या |
  22. With understanding, earnestly, of Savitar the God we crave
    भगस्य रातिमीमहे ||
    Our portion of prosperity.
  23. देवं नरः सवितारं विप्रा यज्ञैः सुव्र्क्तिभिः |
  24. Men, singers worship Savitar the God with hymn and holy rites,
    नमस्यन्ति धियेषिताः ||
    Urged by the impulse of their thoughts.
  25. सोमो जिगाति गातुविद देवानामेति निष्क्र्तम |
  26. Soma who gives success goes forth, goes to the gathering place of Gods,
    रतस्य योनिमासदम ||
    To seat him at the seat of Law.
  27. सोमो अस्मभ्यं दविपदे चतुष्पदे च पशवे |
  28. To us and to our cattle may Soma give salutary food,
    अनमीवा इषस करत ||
    To biped and to quadruped.
  29. अस्माकमायुर्वर्धयन्नभिमातीः सहमानः |
  30. May Soma, strengthening our power of life, and conquering our foes,
    सोमः सधस्थमासदत ||
    In our assembly take his seat.
  31. आ नो मित्रावरुणा घर्तैर्गव्यूतिमुक्षतम |
  32. May Mitra-Varuṇa, sapient Pair, bedew our pasturage with oil,
    मध्वा रजांसि सुक्रतू ||
    With meatb the regions of the air.
  33. उरुशंसा नमोव्र्धा मह्ना दक्षस्य राजथः |
  34. Far-ruling, joyful when adored, ye reign through majesty of might,
    दराघिष्ठाभिः शुचिव्रता ||
    With pure laws everlastingly.
  35. गर्णाना जमदग्निना योनाव रतस्य सीदतम |
  36. Lauded by Jamadagni's song, sit in the place of holy Law:
    पातं सोमं रताव्र्धा ||
