Enrollment open for Orators Academy public speaking class

Limited spots are still available for our 5th annual public speaking classes, Orators Academy. This is an after-school enrichment class (11:50 AM - 12:50 PM) to be held on three Sundays (Apr 17, May 1, May 8) for students age 9 years and older. There is a nominal fees of $30 to encourage serious participation. Please send an email with the student name and age to SPA@Vidyalaya.org to register for it.

Admissions: Early discount ends April 24th Admission email was sent on 3/26 to all existing families. Take advantage of early registration discount which ends April 24th and deposit the form at the admission desk. If you know of any new families who would like to join Vidyalaya, ask them to send an email to admission@vidyalaya.org for enrollment.

Holi Celebration: We are busy planning and getting ready for our most popular annual celebration of Holi. We will watch the weather forecasts carefully and will make an announcement as soon as the forecast calls for a sunny, warm Sunday.

Important Request: Please do not bring items containing latex (for example, balloons, gloves, rubber bands) or nuts (for example, peanuts, cashews, almonds, sesame seeds, etc.) to school. These items are known to produce allergic reactions and we appreciate your help and support in helping to keep our children safe.

School Store Update: Our student volunteers, Anisha and Arjun, hosted another successful store store this past Sunday. The students enjoyed "purchasing" a cookie using their desi bucks which they were able to decorate using colored icing and a variety of candy toppings. Please encourage students to work hard to earn desi bucks regularly. They can be earned by coming to school on time and by doing good work in their classrooms.

Proposal for a Preschool class next year: Any parents who may be interested in enrolling their preschooler for this new class in September 2016, please email asmita@vidyalaya.org asap. The prerequisites for enrollment in this class will be as follows:

Student must be:

1. 4 to 5 years old,
2. completely toilet trained,
3. enrolled in a weekday preschool program, and
4. accompanied by at least one parent during Sunday class time.
